Thank you so much to those of you that sent your thoughts and prayers yesterday...however Chris and I changed the plans and Calleigh did not end up having the feeding tube put in. We talked a lot about the pros and cons of the surgery and at this time the cons out weighed the pros. We talk with Dr. Easley, Calleigh's GI doctor and have temporarily put the surgery on hold. As long as she is making progress over the next couple of months, there will be no feeding tube. She is currently weighing in at 11 lbs 15 oz, which is not great, but Dr. Easley is ok with waiting. With the surgery there is a high risk of Calleigh developing reflux which would then in turn create another surgery for her called the Nissen Fundoplication and we really did not want to risk that at this time. Of course, the feeding tube is still on the table, but we wanted to give her more time before we put her through the surgery and the pain that accompanies it. Thanks again for all of your thoughts and prayers, we appreciate them very much. I promise to keep you all updated!
