On the 20th of June, Chris and Cal were laying on the couch and Chris called me to come downstairs. He was rubbing Cal's tummy and chest trying to get her to sleep and he found a lump in her left breast area. We both were very concerned so on the 21st I made an appointment for her to see a pediatrician. We went to the doctor and two different pediatricians looked at the lump. The did not think it was a lymph node due to the positioning, so they thought it may just be fatty tissue. They rescheduled us for an appointment on the 26th of June and at that time they would reassess and see if the lump got any bigger. When we went on the 26th, we unfortunately did not get to see the same pediatrician so we could not get a good judgement on whether or not the lump had gotten bigger. The final consensus ended up being this: Dr. Travis (the doctor we saw on the 26th...and to make a long story short...Cal's original pediatrician got out of the ARMY and her new pediatrician is going to Iraq...so she does not have an actual pediatrician which in my mind is bad news...anyway...back to the original story!) spoke with a pediatric surgeon in San Antonio who said for us not to do anything at this time. He would like us to wait two months, then have an ultrasound if the lump has not gone away. Of course Dr. Travis told us that if it got bigger or looked infected to come back immediately. So we will watch the lump over the next two months and see if it goes away or gets bigger and then we will proceed from there! Never a dull moment!!!
