Our Brave Little Princess...

Calleigh had surgery on Friday, March 30, 2007. She had a BARD G-Tube put in and she did absolutely FABULOUS!!! She is such a trooper! The doctors decided that she needed the tube due to poor weight gain (brought on by her chromosomal abnormalities). Originally, we were supposed to be doing night feeds only through a pump, but her GI doc changed his mind! So now, she is required to eat 6 ounces of formula at each feeding. Whatever she does not finish we have to put in through the tube. She normally eats between 3 and 4 ounces at a feeding so we don't have to tube feed her too much. It is a lot of work on our part...but whatever works!!! We have not seen a significant weight gain as of yet, but next week she has her one year well baby appointment and we are hoping to see some difference! The tube permits her to be a little lazy...she knows whatever she does not finish goes in through the tube so some feeding she fights me for that simple reason...manipulative little Princess!!!! Thanks for all the prayers and well wishes! It went so great Chris and I wondered why we ever made such a big deal about it!!! Of course we will keep you updated on everything!!! Lots of love...XOXO
