Goodbye Hall Family...

Tonight we had to say goodbye to our very good friends the Halls. I met Wini and John in February of 2007. We were all standing at soccer practice, their son Sean and Cameron were on the same team. I saw Wini holding their daughter and I knew their was something special about their daughter Layla...just like Calleigh. Our friendship began at that moment when we both realized that not only did we have our sons in common, but also our daughters. Layla and Calleigh have two very different disabilities, but the things that held common ground were things such as hospital stays, feeding tubes, throw up, poop, and the endless doctor appointments with the pediatrician and specialist.

Our friendship grew from there...we would have dinners together that lasted into the late evening and we would talk about anything and everything while Cam and Sean played like maniacs and Layla and Cal laid together. It was a wonderful time, but of course all good things must come to an end and in the ARMY world, all good friends must move away.

I said this in November of 07 when the Haywards moved away...these are the times when you hate the ARMY. You develop bonds with people and they turn into family and then they are gone. Of course not forever, but there are no more last minute dinners or movies or stopping by just to say hi. The Hall family may be living in Alabama...but they are close to our hearts forever.

Thanks for being our friends Hall family. You will never know how much you mean to us and how much we love you! We WILL see you again...

XOXO
Chris, Cassie, Cameron, Calleigh and baby Caden
